Katie Pugh Hypnotherapy

Solution-focused hypnotherapy combines clinical hypnosis with psychotherapy producing a powerful, modern technique for bringing positive change to peoples’ lives in a relatively short period of time.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis has been used for many, many years to help people manage anxiety, pain, fears, phobias and unwanted habits. It is not a modern concept at all, in fact hypnosis is depicted in some Egyptian hieroglyphics! Hypnosis works by bypassing the conscious mind through deep relaxation and making beneficial suggestions to the subconscious mind which is the part responsible for behaviour patterns. Hypnosis is, in fact, just a state of focused attention, very similar to feeling sleepy or daydreaming and people experience it in different ways – some people will have little or no recollection of the experience, whilst others will feel fully aware throughout and hear every word spoken by the hypnotherapist.

What is Solution Focused Therapy?

This modern form of psychotherapy focuses on how the client wants things to be rather than on the problem itself. It is a very positive form of therapy which doesn’t dwell on the past and why things are the way they are, but looks to a positive future and how the client would like things to change.

Solution focused hypnotherapy combines these two techniques to create a powerful force for positive change to peoples’ lives.

After suffering from the effects of being bullied she became so anxious that just to walk into the school and even see pupils in the school uniform caused her to breakdown and become so anxious that she couldn't physically cope any more.
